Inside the Game: 8/31/10
- Clint Barmes made his second start since coming off the bereavement list and hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run in the second inning to tie the game at one.
- Carlos Gonzalez knocked his 26th double tonight. He is now tied with Tulo for the team lead.
- Jason Giambi hit his eighth double of the season in the fourth. He was thrown out at third on the very next batter.
- Miguel Olivo made his sixth error of the season in the fifth trying to throw out the pitcher at second base. His mistake did not lead to a run. Olivo is tied for third in the NL for fewest errors.
- CarGo led-off the sixth inning with a walk but was caught stealing second. It was the seventh time this season he was thrown out stealing a base.
- Giambi was hit by a pitch for the seventh time this season. Esmil Rogers hit Jose Guillen in the seventh.
- The eighth inning saw the good, the bad and the ugly. Melvin Mora tied the game with a home run but the bullpen lost the game. Matt Belisle surrendered a homer and Joe Beimel allowed a double that scored two runs. Add in a throwing error, a wild pitch and threw walks. Nine Giants came to the plate in the inning.
