• Colorado is 3-17 on the road when the opponent scores the first run of the game.  The Phillies scored first, notching five runs in the fifth inning tonight.
• The Rockies are 3-16 on the road when they score less than three runs in a game.  Colorado put zero runs on the board tonight.
• Jonathan Herrera went 1-or-4 tonight.  Since June 18th, he has started all 30 games since that date and has hit safely in every game except two.  He is 41-for-120 during that stretch.
• Carlos Gonzalez went 1-for-4 tonight.  It was the first time in six straight games that he did not have a multi-hit game against the Phillies.
• CarGo is 17-for-37 (.459) lifetime against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Inside the Game: 7/19/10

• Jason Giambi knocked in two runs in the third inning to give the Rockies a 2-0 lead.  The first baseman has 22 RBIs this season.
• In the sixth inning, Ubaldo Jimenez knocked in his fourth RBI of the season.
• Jimenez only lasted 5.1 innings tonight.  It was his shortest outing of the season.  His previous low was 5.2 innings against the Red Sox on June 23.
• Matt Belisle replaced U-ball and got the last two outs of the sixth inning.  However, he gave up a run in the seventh.
• Ian Stewart hit his 12th home run of the season in the eighth to cut the lead to 7-5.
• Jonathan Herrera connected on his first home run of his career.  It came at an ideal time as it put the Rox up 8-7 in the eighth.
• Rafael Betancourt pitched a perfect eighth inning to hold the Rockies lead at 8-7.
• Dexter Fowler swiped his ninth bag of the season in the ninth inning.  He ended up getting stranded at third.
• The Rockies turned one double-play tonight.  They are second in the majors with 107 double-plays turned this season.
• Huston Street had his first blown save of the season and is now 1-2 since coming off the DL.

Colorado Chatter: 7/19/10

• Since Troy Tulowitzki went down with a broken wrist, Jonathan Herrera has stepped right in and made an impact.  His 13-game hitting streak came to an end on Sunday.
• Troy Renck put together a nice write-up on potential trades the Rockies could be making before the deadline on July 31.
• Check out this podcast from The Doug Gottlieb Show.  Gottlieb had Jayson Stark on and they discussed Ubaldo Jimenez taking on the role as Rockies’ ace.
• On The V Show, local talent Brandon Krisztal talks about the Rockies’ chances in the NL West.
• The Red Sox are still interest in trading for catcher Chris Iannetta.  However, it doesn’t look like a deal will be made until the offseason unless Boston comes up with an interesting offer.
• Some good ‘ole news and notes from Thomas Harding over at coloradorockies.com.
• One of the Rockies top pitching prospects, Christian Friedrich, left last night’s game after being hit on the left elbow with a ball.
• Colorado and the rest of the teams in the NL West all have the potential to win or lose the division.
• Good news for Rockies fans, Tulowitzki is set to begin a rehab assignment on Wednesday.  He is scheduled to return to the team on June 28.
