The Rockies couldn’t give their fans a storybook ending. However, fans across the Rocky Mountain region woke up this morning extremely happy that their team was in the playoffs for the second time in three seasons. The Dodgers ended an amazing stretch of baseball for the Rockies by defeating them 5-0 and clinching the NL West title. The Rockies will settle for the Wild Card and face the Phillies in the first round of the playoffs.
The offense was absent last night. They only had three hits and struck out 12 times. The big blow came in the fourth when Jorge De La Rosa had to leave the game with a hurt groin.
Franklin Morales pitched the seven inning and was very ineffective. He recorded only one out and allowed five runs on four hits and two walks. That’s all the offense the Dodgers needed as Clayton Kershaw three six shutout innings the Dodgers bullpen closed out the game.
